Saccharides cannot be separated using standard HPLC columns, because these compounds possess
low hydrophobicity and are not retained. It is also difficult to obtain good separation even
if the compounds are retained, because the composition and structure of these molecules are
very similar. The COSMOSIL® 5NH2-MS aminopropyl column is highly recommended for
the effective separation of monosaccharides and oligosaccharides. These columns are also
recommended for adsorption chromatography.
