COSMOSIL πNAP is a Reversed Phase HPLC Column with Naphthalene bonded
silica packing material. Naphthalethyl group has two aromatic rings and
has strong π-π interaction. This column offers improved separation of
compounds such as positional isomers that are difficult to analyze with
Alkyl group bonded materials. |

Comparison with Phenyl columns |
|
COSMOSIL πNAP with two aromatic rings has storonger π-π interactions than
Phenyl column which have one aromatic ring. Stationary phase with π electron
such as Phenyl and Naphthalene retain strongly Nitrobenzene which has more
π electrons than Benzene.
