COSMOSIL πNAP is a Reversed Phase HPLC Column with Naphthalene bonded silica packing material. Naphthalethyl group has two aromatic rings and has strong π-π interaction. This column offers improved separation of compounds such as positional isomers that are difficult to analyze with Alkyl group bonded materials.

Comparison with Phenyl columns
COSMOSIL πNAP with two aromatic rings has storonger π-π interactions than Phenyl column which have one aromatic ring. Stationary phase with π electron such as Phenyl and Naphthalene retain strongly Nitrobenzene which has more π electrons than Benzene.
