Metallofullerenes face dazzling possible application in the field of medical (cancer)
research or as magnetic material with new properties. Since metallofullerenes are
generated as a mixture with general fullerenes it is difficult to separate them. For
efficient preparative separation of metallofullerenes, toluene is the preferred
solvent.
The COSMOSIL® Buckyprep-M packed columns are especially designed for the
preparative separation of metallofullerenes in toluene. This column retains
metallofullerenes stronger than fullerenes. Buckyprep-M column can be used
independently for separation, or in combination with Buckyprep, PBB, NPE
featuring different characteristics, leading to possible discovery of new compounds.
Moreover, Buckyprep-M is effective for the separation of higher fullerenes and
other fullerenes derivatives as well.
